Robert Butler

No request is ever to big or detail too small for Robert, a proven leader with an impressive track record of exceeding expectations and delivering results by nurturing relationships with all stakeholders.  

As Chief Operating Officer for Sage Hotel Management, Robert has total responsibility for all aspects of Sage’s growing portfolio of hotels, with Senior Vice Presidents and Vice Presidents of Sage’s Independent Hotel Collection, Premier Collection and Upscale Collection all reporting to him.  

Robert’s career in hospitality spans more than 30 years. He is dedicated to nurturing long-term partnerships with various ownership groups, growing and mentoring talented hoteliers and creating career paths for associates while driving superior associate engagement. 

Robert attended the University of Kentucky where his family founded a scholarship for dental students in honor of his sister. He is a former competitive rugby player and enjoys spending as much time as possible with his wife at their vacation home in the beautiful mountains of North Carolina. He is chipping away, little by little, at his goal of traveling the world to experience as many sights, sounds and cultures of the world as he can.
