Some buildings are remembered for their architecture. Others are remembered for the role they play in the life of a city. The historic Fulton Building has always been both.

This week, The Atterbury, Autograph Collection officially opened its doors, ushering one of downtown Pittsburgh’s most recognizable landmarks into its next chapter. Thoughtfully reimagined, the hotel honors the building’s architectural legacy while creating a destination that reflects the energy, creativity and character of Pittsburgh today.

For Sage, the milestone is deeply personal.

More than 25 years ago, the rehabilitation of the Fulton Building became one of our earliest historic adaptive reuse developments. It shaped the way we think about hospitality, not as creating something entirely new, but as uncovering what makes a place worth remembering. Since then, that philosophy has guided the way we approach every destination we create.

Together with our partners at RLJ Lodging Trust and Marriott International, we’re proud to see The Atterbury continue that legacy. Every space reflects the building’s history while inviting new experiences, new traditions and new memories for the people who live, work and gather in downtown Pittsburgh.

Most of all, this milestone belongs to the associates and leaders whose passion carried this transformation from vision to reality. Their dedication ensures The Atterbury won’t simply preserve an iconic landmark. It will become part of Pittsburgh’s story for generations to come.

At Sage, we create places people go to, not through. We’re excited to see what’s next for The Atterbury as we continue fulfilling our purpose of enriching lives, one experience at a time.
