The American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA) today announced that Walter Isenberg, President and CEO of Sage Hospitality Group, has joined the Board of Directors. AHLA, headquartered in Washington, D.C., focuses on strategic advocacy, communications support and workforce development programs to move the industry forward.

AHLA’s Board represents leaders from all sectors of the lodging industry, including brands, owners and real estate investment trusts (REITs), management companies, independents, and state associations. Isenberg will be part of vital discussions concerning a broad range of industry- and association-related issues.

“The work that the AHLA does is essential to the success and health of the hospitality industry, and that work is more important now than ever before as we strive to keep the industry alive in the face of the pandemic,” Isenberg said. “I am happy to be a part of an organization that is doing essential work to advocate for policy that will help get the industry through these challenging times.”

“After the most difficult year in our industry’s history, I’m incredibly proud for the depth of experience and diversity that our Officers bring to the table as we look ahead to 2021,” said Chip Rogers, president and CEO of AHLA. “We are grateful to our Officers, Executive Committee, and Board members who volunteer their time and energy to ensure that AHLA and our industry are successful. With a new Administration, a new and closely divided Congress, and new Governors and state legislatures, we have an incredible opportunity to make certain the hospitality industry helps lead the American economic recovery.”
